Brush 44 is a 2018 RAM 5500 4 x 4 with a custom body built by Anchor Richey EVS in Taylorseville NC and has seating for 5. It is powered by a diesel engine and Automatic Transmission. It is equiped with a 400 GPM Waterous direct drive pump, 300 gallon poly water tank, and Foam Pro Class A foam system with a 15 gallon foam tank. It has (2) 200' 1 1/2" pre-connected lines, a 200' booster line reel, and a front mounted turret which can be controlled inside the cab while you roll. It carries 500' of 3" supply hose which can be used as a nurse line or connected to a hydrant.
Brush 44 responds mainly to brush fires, motor vehicle accidents, and medical calls. This unit is set up as a mini-pumper and responds first in on structure fires in certain areas of our district due to limited access and the smaller size of the truck. This unit is equiped with self contained breathing apparatus, forestry firefighting tools, wildland fire gear, and a 12,000 lb. RAMSEY wench that can be mounted on the front or rear of the apparatus. All St. Stephens apparatus carries a compliment of medical equipment including fully stocked medical bag, oxygen, automated external defibrilator (AED), suction unit, spinal bag, and backboard.
